About
Artistic
Journey
I have loved painting in watercolor since i was a child, and was illustrating my little books of animals. I received my B.A. in Art ,with an emphasis in painting, from San Jose State University. I studied drawing and art education at Sonoma State University, and silk fabric design and watercolor at Mendocino College and the Mendocino Art Center. I have participated in many solo and group shows, and have won many awards, and commissions. I have illustrated three books: " Secrets of the Oak Woodlands," 'The Wind in Me," and "Composting Abbie: a Whale of a Story."
In 2009 I was honored as the Mendocino County Arts Champion in the Artist category. In 2015 I received a commission for three paintings for the lobby of the Redwood Medical Clinic, part of Frank Howard Memorial Hospital/Adventist Health in Willits.

Artistic
Approach
When watercolor is dropped from a brush onto wet paper, magic happens. It has always been my favorite medium. It offers me a challenge because it can be so unpredictable, yet it's flow and transparency can capture exactly what I want to say in my art. It is the unexpected things hat can happen with watercolor that make it such an exciting medium.
